Dear Resident,
As you know, I have been campaigning for the cancellation of HS2 through Polesworth for a number
of years and was delighted with the recent announcement that it will no longer go ahead, preventing
much upheaval for residents during construction and protecting areas we love such as Pooley
Country Park.
In his announcement, the Prime Minister announced that every bit of the £36bn saved from scrapping
the remainder of HS2 would go in to revolutionising transport across the West Midlands and the
North. I’ve already secured much needed funding for the dualling of the A5 from Dordon to Grendon
and there is commitment to extend this further along the route, but I want to ensure that we receive
as much of this funding as possible, so am launching a campaign to provide better rail facilities for
Polesworth and need your support!
