Craig Small Business Saturday

Craig Tracey, Member of Parliament for North Warwickshire and Bedworth, has praised small businesses both locally and across the country for the crucial role they have played throughout the COVID19 pandemic.

Since the very start of the outbreak, local businesses have supported communities across the UK, with many facing additional challenges of having to close their doors for a prolonged period of time, adapting to new working practices and investing to keep their customers safe.

Commenting on Small Business Saturday 2020, the local MPs said:

‘’This year’s Small Business Saturday falls at a really crucial time for many small businesses getting back up on their feet after having to close once again due to restrictions.

I have been in regular contact with businesses across the constituency over the last few months and I am sure everyone will agree that so many have gone above and beyond during this challenging time to make sure we have had everything we needed to get through it.

It is only right that we mark Small Business Saturday at a time where now more than ever, we need to support our local High Street and look to buying locally where we can this Christmas and beyond.’’

Under the new Tiering system, all non-essential retail are being given the green light to open in England which is positive news for the local and national economy. The Government has also ensured that the furlough scheme stays in place until March 2021, which at present is directly supporting 3,500 jobs within North Warwickshire and Bedworth on top of the more than £20m that has been also been distributed to both the self-employed and business owners across the constituency.

Craig added:

‘’It was great to catch up again with so many of our amazing local businesses on Saturday and during such challenging times, I am regularly blown away by the entrepreneurial spirit present across our communities. It is also brilliant to watch a number of businesses who I have been in touch with since I got elected, develop into companies that are strongly growing and using the unprecedented situation we find ourselves in to look at how they can further improve the services that they offer local residents. They deserve our support!"
